1 Introduction, apologies and substitutions
The Chair welcomed everyone to the Committee. There were no apologies.
2 Evidence Session - P-04-597 Protect the future of Funky Dragon, the Children and Young People’s Assembly for Wales
Tricia Jones, Jack Gillum, Catherine Jones and Anne Crowley representing Funky Dragon answered questions from the Committee.

3.1 P-03-150 National Cancer Standards
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to:
· Make arrangements for the petitioner to be informed once the date for the plenary date has been announced;
· await the plenary debate before determining whether to take further action or close the petition; and
· ask the Minister to address the points raised by Public Health Wales about ‘non-urgent suspected cancer’.

The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to write to the Wales Tourism Alliance as the ‘Voice of the Tourism Industry’ in Wales to ask if they share the petitioner’s concerns or whether they can offer him any reassurance.
3.14 P-04-572 Grants for Flood Resilience
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to write to:
· Natural Resources Wales seeking views on the correspondence so far;
· the Association of British Insurers asking for their views on the insurance premiums charged on houses previously flooded but in low risk flood areas; and
· explore whether any previous work has been undertaken by Committees on Flood Resilience.
3.15 P-04-579 Reinstate funding for Skomer Island's Guillemot monitoring

3.16 P-04-583 Ban all Growing and Selling of all GM seeds / Foods and Animal / Fish Feed in Wales

· ask the Deputy Minister to respond to the petitioner’s comments and also to clarify the apparent contradiction between the WG policy to maintain a “restrictive and precautionary approach to GM crop cultivation” and the FSA’s view “that there is no reason to suppose that GM feed presents any more risk to farmed livestock then conventional feed; and
· contact the Clerk of the E&S Committee regarding the work they have previously undertaken on the issue, with a view to sharing it with the petitioner.
